What Should I Wear To Church?

We understand you may be worried about wearing the right thing to church. Rest assured, we invite you to come as you are. Whether you are more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt, polo and khakis, or a suit and tie, you will be welcomed into our midst.

How Do I Get Baptized?

Being baptized into the Family of God is a beautiful thing. Once one expresses their interest to be baptized, thorough instruction in the fundamental teachings and related practices of the church will be given. During this time, all your questions and concerned will be answered and addressed. These sessions will take place at North Bronx SDA Church under the instruction of our bible worker, Bro. Madorie.

“The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvelous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to ‘the principalities and powers in heavenly places,’ the final and full display of the love of God.”—The Acts of the Apostles, p. 9.

What is a Baby Dedication and How Do I Dedicate My Child To God?

The four basic purposes of the child dedication service is to -

1.           Thank God for the miracle of the birth

2.           To bless the child and dedicate them to God

3.           For the parents and family to commit themselves to raise the child to love Jesus

4.           To commit the congregation in providing the facilities and support needed to assist the family in bringing up the child

In the child dedication service, neither the child nor their godparents are baptized. It is not a christening service.

What happens during the Child Dedication?

·      Parents are called forward with their child. Other family members are also invited to join in the service.

·      The Pastor gives a short talk in regard to the child and the parent's role.

·      The Pastor dedicates the child to God through prayer.

Those interested in dedicating their child to God must contact the church secretary to arrange an appointment to meet with our associate pastor. The secretary can be contacted at secretary@northbronxsda.org or via telephone  (please see contact us page). From there, the associate pastor will instruct the parents as to what the procedure is and the date of dedication. Please do not wait until the last minute to make the appointment. We want to accommodate the family as much as possible therefore prior planning is greatly appreciated.

How Do I Transfer My Membership?

When a church member would like to join the North Bronx family, the clerk of the church holding the membership record should write to the secretary of the relevant conference/mission/field requesting that the senior pastor at North Bronx make a pastoral visit to the individual. This pastoral intervention may facilitate the transfer process. The clerk of the church holding the membership record should also notify you of the intention to give the member’s new address our pastor.

Upon receipt of this notification, North Bronx will formally carry out the transfer and the member will be voted into the family at North Bronx Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Can I Hold My Wedding Ceremony at North Bronx?

North Bronx openly welcomes request for wedding ceremonies. All request should be sent into our church secretary with sufficient contact information. From there, our senior pastor will contact you concerning your wedding plans and date. Pastoral counseling may be required prior to the exchange of vows.
